Search demand provides insight into the average number of times that people ask questions about the topics in your project across different conversational AI platforms every month.
To see the search demand for your project:
- Click the Reports tab.
- Click the Search demand report in the sidebar.
If no data is available, you may need to create topics for your project and ensure that you have questions for each topic.
How search demand is calculated
Our proprietary model draws from a collection of several data points, including:
- Thousands of real AI conversations performed by actual users, which we’ve licensed from third-party clickstream data providers.
- Clickstream data and internet traffic data for each conversational AI platforms.
- Traditional search intent data such as keyword and trends data.
The calculation process starts with the specific topics and questions you’ve defined in your project. Our model uses these as precise filters to scan our vast conversation dataset, identifying user interactions that directly relate to your questions.
Using sophisticated text analysis and machine learning algorithms, we analyze conversation patterns around your exact topics to model how frequently users are asking questions similar to those in your project.
For instance, if you’ve created a topic about “password management” with questions like “How do I create strong passwords?” and “What’s the best password manager?”, our system identifies all conversations where users asked similar questions and uses this as input to model the overall demand for that specific topic area.
We combine this analysis with relevant clickstream and search intent data to produce a search demand estimate for each topic in your project.
Search demand estimates are uniquely tailored to your project’s specific topics and questions. The system dynamically recalibrates as you add new topics or refine existing questions.
How accurate is search demand
Like all search volume metrics, our search demand data is designed to be “directionally accurate” rather than precisely predictive. There’s no such thing as truly “accurate” search volume, this is true even for traditional search. For example, Google’s own tools for keyword planning and volume estimation provide rounded averages and bucketed data that differ significantly from real search behavior.
Our search demand metrics give you a reliable sense of relative interest levels between topics and help identify which areas generate significantly higher or lower conversational activity. While you can’t use these numbers to predict exact traffic volumes, they provide the directional insights needed to prioritize content strategy and understand comparative demand across your project topics.
